So a quiet night at Dillisk it was. The four of us opted for light fare. Know that the vegetable soup is creamy, not broth based, with puréed broccoli I think. Sadly, the spinach and orange salad was uninspired. No dressing. Just baby spinach leaves, tangerine wedges, and crumbled feta in a cup. On the other hand, the chicken pie with bleu cheese from the previous night’s dinner (see photo) was a brilliant nouveau interpretation of the traditional Irish dish! Lastly, the menu offers a nice selection of Irish whiskies including hard to find Roe Co. They appeared to be understaffed with just one server who was on break when it was time to check out. But the barman covered nicely for him. All in all, a relaxing last evening in Galway. So it was a quiet night in Dillisk. The four of us opted for light food. Know that vegetable soup is creamy, not from broth, I think with broccoli puré. Unfortunately, the spinach and orange salad had no inspiration. No dressing. Only tender leaves of spinach, tangerine and crumpled feta cheese in a cup. On the other hand, the blue cheese chicken cake from the dinner of the previous night (see photo) was a brilliant nouveau interpretation of the traditional Irish dish. Finally, the menu offers a good selection of Irish whiskies, including the hard to find Roe Co. They seemed to have little personal and only one server was resting when it came time to check out. But the waiter covered him very well. In short, one last relaxing afternoon in Galway.
My dining experience at this restaurant was fantastic - the staff was both welcoming and attentive.
Great seafood cahowder and perfectly cooked fish and chips, what more do they need to lunch? it is worth visiting when close. the only parking space is a little challenging if they do not want to pay for nearby parking garage
We are a group of friends of many places who decided to look for a holiday and a chance to see each other. we were in the hotel, while in galway so ended our night in the hotel bar made a lot of sense. we all understand COVID restrictions and get that security must be the top priority, but these rules can safely put a damper on a good reunification. with that said, cyprian's fast and friendly service made a great difference in our experience at the bar. he brewed a cocktail, only for me who meets the place and keeps the cocktails ready for my friend. more importantly he explained that we could continue our celebration in our rooms with room service. what a way to make sure covid didn't kill our fun! as surprised we were when he delivered our wein to our room. what a star! He saved our night and it was an absolutely amazing night!
The chicken was amazing and the brown brot. would have loved more vegetarian / gluten free options. I also liked the salmon. the service was nice and very comfortable to our hotel.
