Cecil's New Orleans Bistro

Great food amazing people one of our all time favorite dinner restaurants here locally!

What a meal we had! We had company from San Jose and wanted a special meal before they left. The place was BUSY but we didn't wait too long to be seated. The margaritas were stellar. Our professional waitress, Harley, knew her specials and was able to sell them. We enjoyed the catfish special, blackened salmon, squash ravioli and the prawns with cheesy, bacon grits. No one left a crumb. I had homemade apple pie at home BUT Harley sold us on dessert. Now I know why. It would have been a sin not to have the pecan pie topped with bananas Foster and ice cream. The best dessert I have ever had and I had to share it with my husband. The blueberry cheesecake was also enjoyed. Go early, avoid the rush.

We had 3 nights in Southern Humboldt and had reservations at a hotel/restaurant and had a horrible next day experience. Needless to say we ended up at Cecil's and ended up eating here for the next 2 nights... WONDERFI, with a great array of delicious menus items. We recommend this restaurant for every Garberville visitor. Don't make me find you if you don't stop here.!!!! And BTW Harley and thier crew are amazing!

I visited this restaurant excited for a nice dinner after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, only to discover that it has permanently closed.

Garberville is, in many ways, a challenging and struggling town. The impacts of COVID and cannabis are evident, and the decline since our last visit is noticeable. However, Cecil's stands out as a bright spot with its rooftop dining, reasonable prices, generous portions, and excellent kitchen. We enjoyed the penne pasta with crawdads in a peppery cream sauce, blackened catfish served with a corn and crawdad remoulade, and a delicious blueberry cheesecake—everything was absolutely delicious. The wine selection is intriguing, though they could expand their beer options. The restaurant is currently understaffed, but the two servers on duty did an outstanding job despite the pressure. Their hours of operation are from 4 PM to 7 PM, and it's clear to see why the place is so popular.
