Contribuer aux commentairesI went to the first time before 2 weeks and I've been once since a week!
We were at the mysore’s buffet and we were happy to sit next to someone who understood what vegan is meant. delicious food! in woodlands they don't speak well English and we ended with yogurt on our teller. my only negative comment is that they should indicate heat levels. some of our foods were too hot (picture) for us while others weren't. best to look at the photos before they come when they are vegan.
We were looking for a good vegetarian option in the opposite and chose mysore woodlands because of its good reviews and because we never had a South Indian food. the service was friendly helpful, the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant and eating absolutely delicious!
It was a happy day when our friend sanjay recommended to go to mysore woodlands, a South Indian place he had found in parsippany. Finally, udipi in montclair, our favorite restaurant has been closed for over 10 years and we were desperate for a new source for our south indian fix. Imagine our surprise when we went to mysore woodlands and were greeted by lokesh, the former owner of the udipi village! it was like a family meeting and sure eating was as great as it was in udipi. amazing idli and sambar with exactly the right amount of seasoned, the children had their dosa and uttapam, and we all filled us on the buffet. After we finished with her legendary coffee, we talked with lokesh and started old times. he told us that the situation in parsippany was bigger and had a private event room that better adapted its growing amount so that he moved there in 2009. he also told us that she and our friend sanjay, who introduced us again, had to get the birthday bash of his father before he went into service last summer. it was so much fun. they brought a grill and made dosa and uttapam to order for more than 50 guests together with many sesameable and beside dishes. everyone has been very happy (and I have to take something extras after home. bonus if you want the best family company south indian restaurant with the most friendly staff and authentic cuisine, this is where you want to visit. here are another 10 years to enjoy lokeshs amazing eating.
Mysore Woodlands turned out to be a pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. After Saravanna Bhavan in Manhattan this is the first truly authentic south Indian restaurant I have found in the tri state area. The menu is varied and very reasonably priced as all South Indian restaurants. The only downside was the woeful service. For a restaurant of this size thay had one waiter, one busboy and one hostess owner doing all of the order taking and serving. Clearly they were going to have problems. But they were quite cheerful about it. Go try it, if you are in the neighborhood.
