Everything we tried was amazing, from the fried steak to the banana pudding, biscuits, corn bread, chicken strips, burger, mashed potatoes...it was all fantastic! The server was so delightful and the cook even came around and asked how we liked everything, which was just a nice touch. On top of that, the prices were really reasonable, darn near fast food prices. I'm really looking forward to trying their breakfast. We will definitely be returning regularly!
I visited Big Ed's for breakfast, and while the service was excellent, I have to say the food was a bit disappointing. My wife and I shared the same experience. One strange thing was that they put the grits on top of the eggs, which didn't work well for us. Overall, the service saved the experience, but the food could definitely be improved.
We came to the Garner location and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Angelica was our waitress and provided high quality service, she was very helpful and helped our little one as well. Food was delicious, the wait was not long, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. We will be back in the future for sureKid-friendliness: The tables were perfect height for high chairs and our waitress, Angelica, made sure we had fresh biscuits for our little one
The food here is always good, at least in our experience, and the wait staff excellent. I give the three star review because now Big Ed's is charging a $3.00 fee for using a credit card to pay. This is new and is not posted on the door, included on the menu, nor mentioned by the wait staff. We were completely unaware until we stood at the check out counter. I understand these rates have gone up for restaurant owners but if an establishment agrees to accept credit cards, then the fees are part of doing business. I seems awfully close to gouging to me and left a bitter taste with us.
Not nearly as good as Big Ed's North. SO GO TO BIG ED'S NORTH!!So, I took my BFF from the west coast here, bragging about how good the southern food is (based on my many dining experiences at Big Ed's North) and our food was simply not good. I'm also surprised that the server did not even notice that I had only taken two bites of my food and my friend had only taken a few of hers.
