I had the gumbo and I tried the chicken wings. Don't try the wings! Go after a big order. Uniquely wonderful. They come with a delicious sauce. Very different spices. The gumbo is full of meat. It has rice too. Very full. I sat there and ate. Beautifully decorated and relaxing dining area. I saw the people come and go and listened to the praises and reviews of the food. I definitely go back to breakfast! They were apparently a food truck company now in the Starbucks building from the Commissioner. You have a episode. Come on. Healthy fresh food. I'll stop every time I'm in the area. The owner is so nice and the whole staff is very friendly and helpful. Ask questions about the menu items. You know the food and help with recommendations. I think they add red beans and rice to the menu next week.
My wife and I stopped on Sunday 25th, she had the Gumbo and I had the Jambalaya. I was very impressed, that was the best Jambalaya I had for years! it had a very nice heat on it very slow and subtle, not excessively hot only really warm. We went back on Tuesday, they have cancer-etouffee, it was a completely different kind of etouffe then I am used to, but again, very well done.
If you haven't found this place yet, you should hurry! EVERYTHING on the menu is so out of the hook! This kitchen is just off Highway10! And the bar is sooo beautiful.
I live the road from an award-winning Puerto Rican restaurant in NYC and have traveled to New Orleans. Here's the REAL DEAL. One of the best meals I had in a LONG time. Traditional dishes with a unique twist, complex aromas, perfectly seasoned. The delicious food alone deserves 5 stars. But add to this impeccable customer service and a super friendly staff, this place beats it out of the park. Protect her. Tell all your friends. Support excellent food and excellent service.
Food is great. I have been a big fan of gumbo since I had the chance of eating it once while living down in TX. Due to not eating seafood it's not so easy to find a place that embraces the idea of chicken gumbo. This place definitely has good food. The staff tries to build a personal relationship with their customers as well and even the master chef would come out to greet us. My one critique of the place would be that the servings do not seem to always equal. The first time I had it I was pretty well satisfied, second time I left feeling hungry still. I think if there is a little more consistency this would definitely be a weekly spot for me.
