Contribuer aux commentairesWe were two very hungry cyclists looking for food. We rocked up here not expecting much to be honest as initially we thought it deserted! However we were soon corrected! Fabulous local dishes and great service. We opted for the ‘8 specialities of the locanda’ to start followed by the risotto. The 8 mini starters were just superb, and ranging from prosciutto, cheeses, aubergine muffin, meatballs- all exquisite. The risotto, too, was stunning. Shame we have now cycled away!
Big rooms, high ceilings with wood beams , beautiful local views, warm comfortable environment! The care takers are two glorious people who really love what they do, breakfast in the morning is so gracious , lovely china, smiles fresh coffee and Croissants with jam, also yogurt ! And the have a great selection of teas ! Comfortable large beds, local church chimes the hourly time, 200 m walk to the best local restaurant! Enjoy we will definitely return next year and stay longer
It was quite a long time , too long and shame on me , that I was not returning to Mimmo and its restaurant on the outskirts of Gioia . Stepping in and being greeted as I would have been there the day before, made me immediately feeling confortable and at home. This is the key of this place , the feeling of being welcome , from Mimmo's superattentive service, to his wife cooking with the heart in the kitchen. How not to order their starters , those alone are worth the trip heere. Wine selection here is just a pleasure, Mimmo is a wine lover , someone that is ready to make you feel happy and not just selling you something . The meat , well so delicious tender, juicy and perfectly cooked . A place that has one strong link with tradition but even a stronger one with quality and intelligence . It is thanks to places like this and persons as the owners that in my heart , they are they deserve the highest rank as perfect hosts.
Waiting for the visit, the beautiful matera. we toured the fields of wheat and olive trees. we happened in front of this small entrance, in a roundabout. great surprise nn we had booked, but the owner greeted us in a respectful and. Like you, Apulian, you know how to do it. and I say, everything. outside. fishing and cheese. Fresh. super quality! QUALITY-PREZZO? in this case you can compare. quality that price with si glia tis si mo. we are the darkness. Apulian knowledge, as his dear friend thank you.
It is on the outskirts of the town , with easy parking facilities and a nice garden area surrounding it , inside during summer time weather and wind permitting they also set tables outdoor a rustical and warm typical south italian atmosphere will make you feeling quickly confortable The owner will take good and professionally care of the guests and will be able to guide them through a vaste menu , with daily offer as well, that is perfectly balanced and offer both meat and fish as well as tremendous pasta . Spectacular are the seeming endless array of starters those alone will feed any normal stomac . Leave a space for meat as we did , they are succulently prepared and make sure you will find the way to taste one of most amazing icecreams I ever tasted the owner explained me that they prepare using only fresh milk In the kitchen the mamma's touch is remarkable , you will get food as prepared from your grandma for a sunday lunch,simple and tasteful , with accent on local dairies products and cured hams Just the bread alone is worth the visit Impressive wine selection that reflects owner's love for good wine , let him recommends you what to drink and you will be surely have a great dinner n price ratio simply great Highly recommendable , we will surely be back
