We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here with service that stood out from the rest. We were welcomed with a great explanation from the gentleman behind the amazing seafood counter and even assured our vegetarian would be accommodated. We selected a seafood paella for our main along with a vegetarian paella. Then we were suggested some cuttlefish and silverfish for starters which all tasted fantastic. When we were seated, there was warm bread on the table and a welcome drink of sparkling wine. This is the real deal and so much better thank our first paella taken in at the row of open dining tourist restaurants. Highly recommend this place.
Basic formica tables, cleaned with an offensively pungent spray and a not too wonderful decor generally should not put you off coming here. There’s no menu; you go to the fish counter by the till and choose from what’s on display. There you will find also a chalkboard with descriptions and prices although not in English. The guy behind the counter did have some English but there is a risk even if you have some Spanish of missing some of what is on offer; always frustrating! We had some very fresh and beautifully cooked squid and good value) razor clams followed by two paellas, mine was a octopus which was fine though rather mean with the octopus. With a bottle of Albariño, coffees and service that came to €100,in the most touristy area of the city so fair value.
This was the best. You pick out your fish( not graphic) and they proceed to cook it! We had grilled calamari the salmon as an appetizer and also de bacala with mushrooms and asparagus plus the Paslla with seafood . Divine. Not rushed at all. Best meal so far.
