I could have driven to Whakatene by the time I got my order, despite being told an 1:15 wait. Over 2 hours and still waiting, Garlic bread took over an hour despite being told 10 to 15 min. Feeling like a hostage for me food. Lovely setting, but under staffed servers and the wait made the meal moot. But this is what you can normally expect here, so jokes on me for thinking this place would improve in efficiency over time. Again, great setting but that doesn't mean a thing if you can't deliver on the food, time after time.

Probably the best pizza we've both ever had in New Zealand. Margherita was fresh and juicy and the meat on meatlovers was actual quality meat, not some cheap stuff you'd usually get. Pizza base was exactly what you'd expect an authentic Italian pizza base to be. Beers were lovely too. We left the restaurant absolutely satisfied.

What a great little gem in Gizzy! I would recommend booking your table, they are really busy and very popular.
