However, everything is clean and obviously well cared for. We were served quickly, the portions are a good size and the prices very reasonable. They couldn’t do enough for you bringing over extra sauces and napkins without us asking. I would absolutely visit again without hesitation.
Came across this place yesterday! Was just closing up but owner asked us to sit down and he made us fish chips to take away from scratch! And threw in a free fritter! We were talking to the owner, his family’s been there since the 1930s. Original furniture from the 40s 50s! Definitely be back. Food was great. Big portions cheap! £4.50 for a fish supper
I just happened to come across this place as I was walking around Glasgow. The vintage style of the outside attracted me but the untouched interior made this even more of a gem. The owner was great to talk to and the food delicious and not the top-of-the-range price you would have expected to pay to visit somewhere this charming in London. The neon sign says Home of the Great Glasgow Fish Tea but make sure you try the ice-cream as well. Amazing place, definitely worth a visit!
I'll keep this quick. This is the best chippie in Glasgow! The owner is also a great person to have a chat with.
I've tried a fish and chips in different parts of Glasgow and Val D'oro is definitely the best one. Fish is fresh as a daisy the butter is crispie the way should be and chips are delicious! We paid(sit in)for 2 huge portions of fish and chips plus bread and butter and tea only £14. The place is a bit old fashioned and that's why I love it.We'll be back definitely.
