I highly recommend dining at Troy at Holiday Inn or Charley's Crab in Grand Rapids. It was the best meal I've had in the city. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
It has been 15 years since we last visited Charley's Crab. We randomly decided to give their Sunday brunch a try, even though we were concerned that this iconic restaurant might only rely on its reputation and history.
The restaurant had a great variety of food, and I really enjoyed the seafood cakes and bacon. The smoked salmon was good, but I was disappointed that the fish station wasn't refilled promptly. The live omelet station was a nice touch, and the dessert section was better than average. The French toast was well made, and the salami shrimp were tasty. Our server, Hunter, was very pleasant and attentive, keeping our drinks filled and clearing our plates promptly. The view of the river was also nice. Overall, the service was good, but the flavor could be improved.
Went for the first time as my son picked it out for his 21st birthday. Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service. They made it special for my family. My son enjoyed his first Mojito and I enjoyed the mock-tail since I was driving.
