Gibe African Restaurant

I had never experienced African cuisine before, so I was unsure of what to expect. However, the flavors were incredibly intense and vibrant. I enjoyed the delicious smell of spices and the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The food was also presented beautifully and the service was excellent.

The injera and spiced kitfo at this restaurant were both excellent. I recommend trying the kitfo raw. The vegetarian option, lentils, was also delicious with its clear flavors. The ambience could use improvement, but the service was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a good place to visit if you're in the area.

I visited this restaurant with a groupon. The interior had a homely feel and the cuisine was Ethiopian. The atmosphere was quiet and the staff were not very accommodating, except for one waiter who occasionally came out. The injera was well made and the dishes were decent, although the meats were tough and dry.

One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. I have been here many times and will continue to do so. The food is amazing and very reasonable and the staff always remember us and treat us well. A real home-style place where I feel like a friend as well as a customer.

Came to Gibe today with a Groupon. Absolutely loved the food! Service was average but acceptable. We had Derek tibs, tibs doro wat plus veg bayenatu. Food was amazing.
