What a pity the place was not opened when we arrived for a pretty search! it seemed they were only open from Monday to Saturday. on the same block at the corner we rode into an excellent taco restaurant that was a beautiful surprise.
I travel once or twice a year to Spain and have done this for over 20 years. it may sound as exaggerated, but this restaurant serves the best Spanish food I ever had. they do consistently and with gnade. david, the cook. is a Spanish young kitchen artist who loves what he does. you can't go wrong.
We loved the fresh fish grilled for two and great spanish wines that remainded us of home/
Went to Tabarka recently and had a variety of the tapas, as well as the mixed grilled fish for 4 people, which allowed us to try all of their salsas. The tapas were excellent the cod sweetbreads were unique full of flavour with great...texture. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the tapas. The assorted grilled fish plate was good too a great choice if you have a number of people and want to try their assortment of fresh fish. One item to note about the wine there are bottles of wine not found in the stores in Guadalajara given the owner imports directly from Spain, so I recommend that you try some of the wines from the restaurant's own bodega. Enjoy! The atmosphere is not exactly fine dining, but the food is not meant to be either it is home or family style so if you're looking for white table linens, this is not your place. But for a good meal with friends/family or with business contacts you know well, this is your place. Not pretentious by any stretch of the imagination.
