Even at this late hour, Elijah and Saden were so gracious and accommodating to get our to go order just as we had asked. Tony, one of the Head Cooks who’s been there for years, prepared our dinner. OMGOSH it was delicious! They butter and grill the buns and the sliced brisket was SO tender. The French fries were crispy golden, cooked to perfection, even at this late hour. I’m craving sliced brisket as I write this! They also have a burger, I think it’s called a Western Burger, with a homemade sweet/sour hickory sauce and cheddar cheese piled and broiled, all melty with the finest quality ground beef..I’ve heard an occasional slur that someone thought it wasn’t a clean restaurant. I would like to say-It’s an OLD restaurant, parts of it were built around 1900’s, but one of the cleanest I’ve seen. The cooks scrub and hose down the kitchen EVERY night! Not many restaurants are as fastidious!
We enjoy Stables evertime we go! Great food, comparable prices, service is usually top notch, and a good overall selection. They need fried pickles on the menu though. ? Thank you, we will be back. Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere for the entire family!
My family comes to visit from Dallas. They always want to go to Stables..me too. The salad bar is great and I always feel welcome.
Just passing through and what a pleasure. Excellent hickory pork ribs, good brisket and sides. The BLT was excellent as well as the onion rings (must try! . We'll be back when we pass through to the coast!
Our server was new and made a mistake but owned up to it and the food was really good.
