Contribuer aux commentairesLOVE this restaurant! My family are regulars here especially on Sundays. Nice buffet style southern food. We especially love Beef Stew on Thursday nights. The only compliant is the building itself needs some cosmetics updates. Other than that five stars!
Southern comfort food as it should be! We came here as a road trip stop off looking to avoid the standard fast food options. We were very pleased. It was exactly as described, VERY casual (think overalls and pickup trucks), family friendly atmosphere with perfectly sized small buffet with southern homestyle cooking. Definitely a favorite with the locals, as you can see by those in attendance as well as the well worn path by the buffet and cash register. Diners of all ages and demographics enjoyed the food. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Food was spot on! Buffet Entrees of the day: southern fried chicken and meatloaf Buffet Sides were green beans, black eyed peas, lima beans, mashed potatoes and gravy Buffet Salad well stocked salad bar. Buffet Dessert a yummy peach cobbler. The only negative was the use of styrofoam for takeout items and plastic straws (both of which are a huge problem, with trash polluting the ocean an area the size of Texas and affecting wildlife). I would love it if they switched to biodegradable, plant based to go container options and cups and limited straw availability to out of sight by request only. This is a no frills respite from the fast food offerings we see too often. Stop here for good, classic southern cooking! Dinner for family of 5 was $43.
We happened to be traveling through town and stopped based upon previous Yelp reviews. Buffet is small but food was delicious and fresh.
Southern buffet style done right. This is a small place with a small buffet, however they make it up with big flavor! Their buffet has all the country cooking favorites. Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, banana pudding.. etc. Everything was excellent. From the employees that made me feel at home, to the stick to your ribs comfort food. The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars is because the atmosphere is plain and simple, which isn't a bad thing, but for 5 stars there could be just a bit more attention in that area. It is a strong 4 star! I would recommend you to stop in.
There isn't many choices on restaurants in Hampton outside of the few fast food places. This is a popular spot with locals, (I know this because the parking lot is always full when I pass by). The atmosphere is casual...very casual. It's a buffet style restaurant with southern dishes as your options. In addition to a salad bar they serve Fried chicken, fried fish, mashed potatoes, chicken and rice, and corn on the cob to name a few. The Fried chicken was really great! That alone was worth the stop inside. Several calls came in, while I was there, asking what was on the buffet today? By that I gather that the buffet changes from day to day. The staff I encountered was really nice and helpful. I did think that the buffet was a little small and (outside of the chicken) the other dishes were somewhat bland, not a ton of flavor. The buffet is all you can eat for $9.50.
