While visiting Shenandoah National Park, I searched for a close enough place with vegan options and was shocked to find vegan breakfast! I ordered the tofu scramble with Cajun potatoes, a short stack of the g.f. blueberry buckwheat pancakes, one of their HUGE vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and a side of veggie chili. Everything tasted great and was seasoned well! The staff was super friendly too! I will definitely return when I'm back in the area.
Both the plain scramble and the breakfast burrito were very good well seasoned, and love that Twin Oaks tofu. Pancake was kind of weird and not fully cooked in the middle.
Had a hard time selecting just one option because there were plenty to choose from. I landed on the vegan pancakes because I hadn't had pancakes since going vegan a couple years ago. The employee that took our order was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I also impulse bought a giant vegan cookie that took me 3 sitting to finish. I appreciated that the pancake was made with flax and the cookie made with whole grains makes indulging feel a little more nourishing!
Cool atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of vegan options!!! It sometimes takes us 15 20 minutes to decide what we want because they offer so many choices. This is a welcome change from most restaurants out there, which only offer 1 or 2 vegan things to choose from if that!! . We like the community involvement, too.
