The fish was good the chips however were like short little shards of french fries...dry and hard to eat. The roast beef sandwich was dry...the gravy helped somewhat. The vanilla milkshake was good but the container was just over half full...a pretty small shake.Restaurant and washrooms were reasonably clean. Staff were good. Prices standard. Lots of parking. Kid's play area outside and picnic tables. Not handicapped accessible.
Not sure why this place is getting negative reviews! It was extremely busy when we visited on a weekend, and we both enjoyed our meals. Endless types of pie at this place! I haven't tried yet but will when we go back. I had a chicken sandwich, which was good, and a caesar salad. Mac and cheese bites were delicious! Good service, reasonable prices. What more could you want when you're out in the middle of nowhere?
Stopped in here with my mother on the way home from Southampton ON. When ordering my hot turkey which was actually bits and pieces of turkey--not sure of what I would chew on sometime--I asked if there was any cranberry sauce. Yes, she would bring some! When I got the bill I was up charged .25 for a tiny bit of cranberry jelly (no cranberries) contained in one of those jam packs you get for breakfast. When I asked the waitress about the upcharge her response was "It doesn't come to us for free"! I was appalled with this reply. Surely "Sorry sir, I should have mentioned it". Or something along those lines would have been far more palatable. Sorry folks, not a good experience. There are lots of other places to eat who have friendly staff and who don't mind splurging on a little bit of cranberry sauce. Next they will be charging for the lights over the table. This staff person needs an attitude adjustment.
Truck stop food, daily specials, mostly with fires and coleslaw. Chicken pot pie was delicious but fries are terrible. You can't go wrong with the sandwiches and prices are dirty cheep.
We stopped here for lunch around 2:30pm.....big mistake ! after 5 minutes of waiting we were acknowledged...after we were even told to seat ourselves! We ordered a chicken melt, a burger and fries...it was absolutely horrific! I didn't even touch it! .and then waited another 10 minutes for someone to check on us and the meals....nothing...got up flagged down the staff .quietly said to her that it was terrible...squeezy chicken. canned mushrooms, dried up fries...no need to say more.....and explained I was not going to pay for that but would the other meal and may I speak to the manager...here's how that went .she proceeded to yell back through the open window to the kitchen, to whom ever his name was and said a customer wants to complain!. Out comes this man....and I try to explain why I was not going to pay for my meal and that it was just awful and here's what I got back......."Really...well I have never heard that and find that hard to believe" WOW on top of that he said he was not going to sit there and argue about that and torn up the bill and then proceeded to tell me and everyone that was there, that I am not welcomed back! The only person arguing and making a scene was this disgraceful and disrespectful person! You should be ashamed of yourself ! Save yourself and your money and do not go there! I'm big supporter of small businesses especially in the rural areas where you normally can bank on great friendly people who care!...this is not one of them! do the right thing!
