Egg Roll King - Hayward

Have been eating here for several years, even when they were called Eastern Winds . Tonight we ordered several items. One of them was Shrimp Chowmein . After a few bites, I bit into something hard, and fortunately stopped chewing. Reaching into my mouth to try and pull out what it was, I felt something stiff and unchewable. Pulling it out, I found it to be a piece of wire about 4 long, about 1 16 wide and tangled looking. It appeared to be a piece of a scrubbing pad orsome other part of a kitchen utensil. My wife saw me extracting it and grabbed her cell phone to take the attached photo. I checked it with a magnet to see if it was stainless steel, but it instantly stuck to the magnet, obviously a ferrous metal. Minutes later I phoned Egg Roll King to advise them of the dangerous food additive. Instead of acting concerned, I was offered a Free Item on my next order. This wire if swallowed would have caused significant internal injury undoubtedly. After several item price increases over the last year and now this, they can keep their free item as I am not willing to gamble with this type of carelessness. I'm done. BEWARE OF DANGEROUS FOOD ADDATIVES HERE and good luck as swallowing this could be life threatening.

So I ordered from two places today. This one and Bao Bao 88 in Castro Valley and THIS PLACE was the spot! So unassuming and SUPER DELICIOUS and beyond affordable. I spent 20 at this place and 60 at the other. Let's just say, I should've just come here. Ordered: Wor Wonton Soup EXTREMELY flavorful and rich with veggies, shrimp, beef, chicken and wontons for like 8. Hot and Sour Soup LOTS of tofu and egg and phenomenal flavor! Also at the 8 mark. Don't sleep on this little hole in the wall spot. All I got was soup, but worth it 100 .

The egg foo young was greasy, disgusting and inedible. The fried rice was greasy and gummy. The lady told me I didn't pour the sauce over the egg Foo young. I knew that wasn't going to make this greasy dish any better. The bag I brought the food back in was dripping with grease. I got my money back. Never again ?

Very oily…every dish was with thick oil left on the bottom. Egg rolls were good, but maybe at the level of a Duke rather than a King. Is still recommend going for the egg rolls. Get the veggie.

Delicious, quick service, very clean and if you spend over 40, you will get a free dish. I recommend it.
