During my previous visit to Heringsdorf and my stay at Steigenberger Hotel, I was thrilled by Waterfront, the seaside restaurant, which is part of the hotel. But this enthusiasm is not much left. In view of my experience, I went directly to the Waterfront my first evening at the hotel. Very different staff from the previous period, but this can and does in the hospitality industry. But where was the atmosphere, where was the mood. In addition, I noticed that the restaurant came as cool, also because there were so few guests. The maritime colors blue and white can then come as hard and cold. Waterfront has “menu of the day” and “Aperitif of the day”, both are recommended on a small display on each table. I chose the recommendations from the display on the first evening and was pleasantly surprised. Everything looked very good in the presentation and the taste was excellent. The staff was friendly, but a little dirty. When I came there for the second time this week, the restaurant was almost empty. No atmosphere, no ambience. This time no ads on the tables with menu of the day, etc. They came much later when I almost finished my dinner, from which I sent the main course back and that rarely happens to me if at all. The staff chose an alternative that was good in itself, but my appetite was gone. The difference to the first evening was too big, very regrettable. The location itself is great with sea view, a spacious terrace, but this is not good enough to come with a higher rating in this review.
This restaurant is very convenient when you stay at the amazing Steigenberger Grandhotel and Spa. The menu is somewhat limited, and the food was good, but not great. The servers were friendly, though a bit slow and inconsistent in their service.
Great home made cake in the afternoon if you really get someone to serve you. Everything you can eat on Saturday night in summer. Not bad.
This lovely restaurant offers inside and outside sitting. It is part of the Steigenberger Hotel, but attracts outside guests, as it is situated directly on the beach promenade.Food offers something for everyone, incl. for kids, but although the plates are nicely arranged, the food is just ok, no more. With some improvements of the cuisine, this could be a phantastic place. Service is a bit unattentive too.
Great home made cakes in the afternoon - if you can actually get anyone to serve you. All you can eat BBQ on Saturday nights in the summer. Not bad.
