We went in got sat down at a table, and that was it we waited and waited to be served but no one came not even to ask us what drink we wanted. The waitress just stood talking to the cook. So we walked to the counter said we are going as our parking fee will be finished by the time we get served and the waitress just said ok. That is no way to treat customers and we will not step back in there again.
The fact that the place was empty shoud have told us something. We ordered a sausage sandwich and an egg mayonnaise sandwich, as they did not have soft rolls only baguettes. Also two coffees, which were fine. This was for takeaway. When we picked them up and opened the packets, we were amazed. The bread on each sandwich was two inches thick each piece. One sausage inside one sandwich, but no butter on the bread. The egg mayo must have been just a tablespoon inside this huge amount of bread, which did have butter, but nowhere near the crusts. I am only giving it two, as the lady serving was very pleasant. Also it was not cheap. £10.60 for two sandwiches and two coffees seems a lot.
Mushrooms looked like they had been boiled instead of fried. Very greasy food! Price is okay but no hashbrowns- I think for the price you can definitely get better quality and more options elsewhere. Only accept cash which in this day and age is a pain- my partner had to walk all the way down the street to get cash out. Th joke of it is they have WiFi but no way of paying card. Our first time visiting today and will definitely be the last.
Had a takeaway Yorkshire pudding with sausage, mash and peas. Reasonably priced, great for a little takeaway! Defiantly will have to come back to sit in. Portions were great, only downside was not enough gravy.
Visited Piggys Hollow Cafe today with my friends 2 year old daughter to treat her to cake and ice creme with a hot chocolate! as well as going to order food and drink for myself. After being told they had no children’s cakes OR ice creme I decided to go and get the little one a kiplings slice so she could at least enjoy something with her hot chocolate. But no, I was REFUSED service because I had gotten her the Kipling slice! Appalling customer service doesn’t make sence to me turning away a paying customer AND losing return custom as won’t be going back there again! Also told me anywhere else would do the same! Now enjoying food and drinks in the church cafe, and yes they let her have her Kipling slice!
