I added salt, pepper, ketchup to the ash and it tasted better. Definitely the crispy corner of pancakes would have been perfect if the butter came on the side so you can immerse it in them. Loves the syrup nicely hot and fresh and the bottle came in. This place has potential. Like the land theme they have. Very interesting. I came around for a second time and I liked that better than the last meal I had. The steak, the eggs with the geese, the fried apples I did a replacement and got perpetrators.
Flavorful food in a quaint atmosphere with lovely customer service. Check out is a bit of a hassle they apparently don't trust their wait staff to collect the bill and you'll have to wait online to check out.
Cameron was our waiter. He was excellent... Even ran out phone out to us when we left it behind. I got salad and loaded baked potato for lunch. Both were very good. Chocolate pecan pie for dessert. Also very good. I would love to see more gluten free options.
The Store: What a cool little shop to go to. They definitely have many unique items that I haven't seen in any other retail stores. The ceiling decor is wild. I would go back again to see what is new for sale in the future. The only fault is they're pricey, so be prepared to drop a few extra bucks. The Restaurant: I have mixed feelings on it. The plus side is the staff is nice, the area is clean, the decor is like no other, and service was timely. My steak was cooked at perfect temperature always a huge plus. The lemonade is phenomenal. The worst that stood out to me would be the green beans looked like it came out of a very dated can. The texture was mush, the appearance was nauseating, and the taste is exactly what you think it would be; disgusting. When the bread was served we were told they had no plates so we were handed some napkins. The eating area wasn't even half full so I found that to be odd. I also noticed some Servsafe issues when handling cups and plates. A server should always be trained properly to avoid cross contamination. That's day 1 for every restaurant. Because of the store part I'll give a very generous 3 stars. I would probably visit another location again in the future. It just wouldn't be my first choice if I was going to do so.
So visiting from Canada, I was told to visit here for a good Southern style breakfast. And well, it was... I'm sure people love the biscuits and gravy, I was told that I HAD to try them. They don't really live up to the hype, if anything they tastes like warm Popeyes biscuits that I could've gotten for cheaper there. The gravy also did not help. The country fried steak, combined with the hashbrown casserole, I couldn't finish it. Not sure if it's just this location or if that's the standard, but definitely could not handle all the cheese and greasiness. That's not saying we don't have greasy food in Canada, but here it seemed over the top, which this is apparently the standard. Having a gift shop was nice though, it was fun to look at all the knick knacks about, always love a good souvenir! Overall the service was nice, but I definitely walked away with a bit of a sick tummy.
