This review is not indicative of Salvatores but pizza as a whole in Birmingham. All the local pizza spots in Birmingham literally taste the same. This is more likely due to they all using the same distributors imo.I have literally tried the majority of the pizza spots here in Birmingham, and none of them taste any different from each other.I can give credit and say Tortugas are truly Chicago Style from the thin and the deep dish. Uncle Gs is also a great version of Detroit style. As far as NY style pizza, I can 't find it here.As a person who travels frequently, I can say pizza in Birmingham is not up to par.I was just in Columbus, Ohio, and got a slice at a random pizza spot in a food hall and can say it was top tier.As far as Salvatore, it is a typical Birmingham tasting pizza. Sorry for the rant, but if I get a better pizza from a chain than a local, then there is a problem.I give it 2.8 Belly Rubs out of 5Side note: I 'll give the chocolate cake a 5 belly rubs out of 5. I will definitely go back to get that!!!
Fantastic local pizza and pasta spot. Reasonable prices, nice portions, and smiling, friendly service. Hate to see a fountain not being used, but it's just a minor gripe. Fun place for a casual bite with family or friends.Vegetarian options: Pretty easy to make a variety of vegetarian pizzas/pastas/calzones. Staff is very accomodating.
Unfortunately, good pizza is hard to find in the south especially when you come from a city that is always in the top 5. But this spot right here amazing!!! Staff helped with deciding to return but if you haven’t tried it definitely do so in the near future.
Great customer service!!!! I felt really taken care of, but I’ve had much better Italian and more options at other places.
