We all ordered lobsters and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Unlimited salad bar and steamed mussels comes with your dinner and both were outstanding. I happened to meet the current owner and he and his staff were most welcoming and accommodating, so I strongly recommend you try to make a reservation to eat here! You will enjoy it!!
If you want a lobster supper with a all in one price than this is the place for you. First off, check the website for their hours first not open everyday plus make a reservation. It can be very busy. When we were leaving there was a sign out front saying lobster supper sold out for the evening. Where to start, well if its lobster that you are looking for this is it, for one price I believe it was $48.99 you get unlimited salad bar all you can eat mussels and a huge 2lb. lobster ,dessert and coffee or tea. We also had a bottle of wine , they had a good selection , and not overpriced for alcohol. Everything was mouth watering delicious, friendly service, and the atmosphere is perfect. The place is steeped in history, been there 81 years. If you are looking for east coast lobster this is the place to go.They do have different sizes of lobster at different prices and there is steak and chicken available too plus a kids menu. But the best bang for your buck , the 2 pounder is the way to go.
In Hubbard's , Nova Scotia, about 40 minute drive south of Halifax! If you love lobster this is the place to experience a " locals" diner type lobster feast? Sold by size.... 1.25, 1.50, and 2.0 lb lobsters. Prices are not bad, and the lobster comes with all you can eat steamed mussels, and salad bar! Also has a decent wine list to wash down your meal. Plan on the lobster being the reason you are here not the view! The staff is friendly and effecient
This rustic building in its 81st year of business is special and you must give it a go, even Princess Diana ate here! Service was super friendly, the lady that took our phone reservations- which is a must! gave us a tip of music and fireworks across the street after supper so we timed dinner at 6 to give us time to do it all! if you show up earlier at 4pm there is 5 bucks off the meal. The great thing is there is one price that covers all you can eat salad/pasta bar and mussels that we were informed just came the day before. the meal also include your lobster- you chose up to 2 lbs! and dessert and coffee or tea- Lucky for us there was a lovely salted scone like dessert with blueberry sauce and whipped cream which was great. Lots of paper towels and the plastic bibs are a fun touch.Go in with the right attitude and enjoy the hospitality and food. Its a nice drive, lots of parking.
This was a delightful, rustic lobster supper with all the trimmings. A good selection on the salad bar ( but if you are thinking large salad bar like some chain stores you will be disappointed) all salads were fresh and tasty. Rolls with butter and all you can eat mussels. Lobsters were done well and pre cracked which makes eating a lot easier in a restaurant atmosphere. Desserts were very good. We had a lemon cake and chocolate brownie with icecream. From the checker table clothes to lobster bibs and placemat of history to little packages of hand wipes it was a wonderful experience.
