I’ve been on this Earth for close to 23 years and have now just tasted the best pie in my life. It’s a hidden gem of a pie shop. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the best pie of their life.
Best apple crumble pie I’ve had! Lois is so sweet and she puts a lot of love in those pies. Must try if you’re in the Humble area. I will definitely be back!P.S. Call ahead because they sell out fast.
I have been to Humble Pies twice, both times proved inconvenient and nearly impossible to get a pie. First time I arrived expecting to be able to buy a whole pie from behind a counter. I was told they made whole pies by pre-order only, and that pies in the back were for slices only. There were no complete pies, only one's with slices missing. I did not buy a pie that day, and instead the next time called as the owner requested.Second time I had called 2 days in advance for a pecan pie and agreed on a pickup date/time. I show up and the business owner informed me that her supply shipment of pecans had not arrived yet and has not gotten a chance to make the pie. I understand that things happen, but NO phone call had been made to me about this to make me aware of the delay and save me a drive out. Instead, I was informed only after showing up. She asked me to return a few hours later, as she thought the supplier would arrive by then. I did and received the pie; however, my event plans were delayed hours as I was late as result of lack of communication from the business owner on my pre-order status. The business hours listed and days of operation are not followed as promoted. I called last week 4 days in advance wanting to pre-order a pie and was told that they could not place the order because they hadn't decided on whether they would be open that day (Friday--it was not a holiday). So I asked owner to verify the hours and days on google and she assured me they are accurate. It seems like hours and day are subject to change with no notice to customers.I have called the business number listed 3 times this morning again attempting to order a pie but the number will not pick up and voicemail is full.I would LOVE to support a small local business but these owners cannot seem to handle simple orders and phone calls for orders with multiple days notice. I LOVE this one pie they make, but it doesn't seem worth the hassle and hoops you go through to get a pie. Owners should improve on this!
O my gosh! First time in this shop and I may never bake a pie again! I ordered the Strawberry/Rhubarb pie and it was ready at the time agreed upon for pickup! Still warm!!! Everyone who ate it wanted to know where I got it! The owner was so darn friendly and we’ll be BFF forever! This shop is so clean and very well maintained!
