Our waiter Dan was very attentive as he refilled our water when needed. The vegetable fine do seems to have fermented before being cooked making it very tasty and very good. As an example The Onion was salted and fermented before being placed in the oil. The cheese fondue with wine inside is also very good. The main course was also very tasty. I suggest you to go with the hot plate instead of the oil. The Buffalo tasted spectacular, a lot different from the beef. The garlic butter to oil the pan was also very tasty when paired with the Lobster. Make sure not to put too much butter on the hot plate as the butter will splatter everywhere. The raspberry dessert jam was not too sweet, which when paired with the sweetness of the fresh fruits was very good. The only thing that bugs me is how expensive the dinner is. More expensive than eating at the top of Calgary Tower.
Pricey but well worth it. You can get a good steak anywhere but this is a unique experience i say it's a must do in Banff! We had the complete fondue dinner it was so tasty. Started with house salad, the the cheese fondue with bread, seafood trio and beef+lobster on hot rock, finished with chocolate fondue with fruit and wafer cookies. Everything tasted delicious had to remind myself to save room for the next course. The main course is a bit small but with the other courses left perfectly satisfied.
I've personally never been here before, my friend recommended the place and after lastnight I understand why. Our server was Susan M. And she was the best server I've ever experienced. She was bubbly, personable, extremely knowledgeable, and all around she made our already amazing experience perfect. The restaurant serves wonderful dishes and I recommend you come in a group and try a little bit of everything. The decor of the restaurant gives it a very nice cozy, rustic atmosphere. We enjoyed the fondue but swapped out for hot rocks for our main entrees. As mentioned earlier, Susan M. Was fantastic and she anticipated our needs before we could even ask for a fresh hot rock she was offering to replace them. We tried the house cocktail, gin based, and it wasn't overly sweet but extremely flavourful. We also tried the 3rd tap brown local draft. I was expecting more of a honey brown but it was darker like a Guinness, which wasn't bad at all, but I definitely filled up a bit too much for it. Definitely recommend you choose lighter drinks, like the house cocktail.
We absolutely love it here. My boyfriend and I come here every winter, and last night was by far our best experience yet! Our server Suzanne was so friendly, knowledgeable, and she really went above and beyond to make sure that we left happy. She recommended a bottle of wine that was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. We did spend most of our dinner sitting next to a pretty rowdy and obnoxious group of people…. We made one small mention to Suzanne and within a couple minutes she had moved us to a way better table. They have the cutest little secluded spot which really made the whole experience so much better. Her doing this really shows her level of care. The food was exceptional as always and we will definitely be back next year! Thank you so much Suzanne!!
The first time here, but not my last! party of 2 we had the 4-course-Fondue dinner. he started with a very delicious French wobble soup. then had a cheese fondue with brot to dive and put a container of garlic in the cheese to add more flavor we wish (what of course we did). very tasteful! for the main course we both chose the alberta who came with beef, bison, elk and venison. they bring a heated piece of stone to cook their meat with some garlic butter, very enjoyed to eat these wise! all the met was great but my first time having elk and I am addicted, it tastes in her mouth and tastes so good! the desert was fruit pieces and a chocolate fondue to dive. everything in this restaurant forms the decor, the atmosphere, the eating and the incredible service of stephanie out was the best notch. if they never ate here before they should. do not refuse this pleasant experience!
