I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The shrimp scampi I ordered was delicious, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the sirloin and lobster. The lobster bisque was exceptional, and my son's girlfriend loved the shrimp creole. My wife also loved her chicken marsala. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant evening overall. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Owner excelled in communicating with patrons. Food excellent with nice presentation.
Service was slow and seemed disorganized. Steak and lobster was great, but sides were lackluster. $5 asparagus side was 5 pitiful pieces of asparagus. Overall overpriced for what it is.
Our family of 6 (with 4 kids) came from a 4 hour drive to the state wrestling tournament and made a reservation at Trotter’s through OpenTable about 45 mins prior to the reservation time. We arrived promptly at 7:30 (our reservation time). No one approached us for at least 5 mins, and then after the reservation was confirmed, we were seated about 45 mins later. No one came to our table for probably another 30 mins. We didn’t get utensils or the bread that we saw other tables getting. I had to request bread, after finally having our server come to take our order. By the time we got some of our dinner, it was after 9:15 pm. I had initially ordered the scallops, and at least 30 mins later, the server came and told me that they didn’t have scallops, so I ordered the Grand Marnier salmon, and they ended up bringing me an herb salmon instead. All the food was delicious, though my husband’s filet was definitely medium well instead of the medium rare he ordered. Everything was just incredibly and painfully slow. The food turned out to be delicious, despite not even ordering my meal (they brought out something else by mistake), so we’re thankful for that part. We also appreciated that the server apologized genuinely a few times and took 15% off the bill. They must have been overwhelmed by large groups who came in for the tournament like us. They were unprepared.
