We had our 5 year old grandson and asked for his grilled cheese as soon as possible because he was tired of being in the car and hungry. Forty five minutes later when the neighboring table told us they had been waiting for over an hour we asked the waitress and she said it was coming right up. When the neighboring table left, they gave them a $20.00 gift certificate. Another table got up and left and did not pay. By this time we had no time left and when my husband payed for the drinks they said the food was still not cooking. If they would have told us the cook was not there and not deliberately lied it would not have been as bad. We ended up eating at the airport, very disappointed.
This is a great spot to get some grub after a night on the town. With most places not serving any food after 11 downtown Indianapolis, let alone a full menu, it is great going in and having anything from breakfast to dinner at your disposal. The staff on the whole is friendly enough, and always make sure you get what you want. Occasional bathroom cleanliness issues (but who doesn't have that at 3 am? . Overall, you are not going to beat this place for a warm meal downtown late at night. Be sure to check out their biscuits and gravy...
Me and my husband went to spend the day in Indy. We decided to stop and get a bite to eat. At first glance it was nothing different than any other little pub. The special that day was Philly Sandwiches and waffle fries for $5.00. So we thought we would try them. Those were the best Philly sandwiches I have had in a very long time. They were amazing. The fries were golden and delicious. It was so good I stuffed myself trying to finish it. I will definitely go back the next time I am there. It is a great value. The staff was very friendly.
I have been coming in since the place opened a couple of years ago but I think I will be going elsewhere, at least for a while. The staff has always been really nice to me and the service has really shown a much needed improvement until recently. They have a lot of new staff working there and they don't seem to be trained correctly. I know more about their menu that some of the new people working there! I have also noticed a big change in the food quality and size. I loved the onion rings but now they are completely different with no warning when I ordered. I also liked the fact that they had Pepsi instead of Coke. No such luck now. I think I will try out the other restaurants downtown. There are plenty to choose from!
My husband and I took our computers to Red Eye for the free WiFi connection and some lunch. The waitress was as sweet as could be but didn't listen to anyone when they ordered. Two tables served before us sent orders back that were wrong and when mine came, guess what? It was wrong. I ordered onion rings and got fries. They did give me the onion rings for free. They had one large group and 3 small tables to wait on. It took FOREVER for anyone to get their food because of the one large group. I would hate to see them when they were busy. The Red Eye burger is phenomenal and worth a try. Don't be in a hurry or have a pressing engagement to get to because you'll be late.
