Best Asian cuisine found in Jena so far. I wish I discovered it earlier. You have chili-Padi if you miss spicy Asian food during the trip. Very friendly prices and friendly service from all employees.
Going out for Asian food in Jena is strange. Most restaurants focus on food with Asian ingredients instead of eating a particular country or region. Almost all Asian restaurants in the city include Vietnamese that focus on Chinese food... adapted to the German palate. Sometimes pho is on the menu as a Thai curry or two, but if the Thai Curries 't marks Thai Curries, I would probably not recognize them as Thai Curries. That said, Thi Bich Pham is my favorite restaurant in Jena. His dishes seem to have most taste, and the dishes with the name wicy actually have a little of a zing to them. Pho is on the menu, but it lacks the depth of the taste of a Pho in a restaurant that focuses on Vietnamese foods instead of an Asian mhmash. Your Chinese food comes closest to Chinese food of every restaurant in the city. I usually go for Sichuan beef these days; they used to have a delicious black bean chicken dish that is no longer on the menu. A meal, without drinks, will take you back about 4-6 €. Service is generally quite fast, and you can eat either inside or at one of the tables along the Wagnergasse. That said, at meals it can be difficult to get a place at a table, especially in winter when there are no tables outside.
