Great pizza. Worth going out of your way for. Destroyed all 3 of my pies before remembering to take a photo. Will be back. It's a one man show so there may be a wait, but the man hustles and hanging out there is a pleasure so come, take your time and enjoythe moment. And the pizza.
I had the red vegan pizza here. It is *insanely* flavorful. The expression is overused but it truly was an explosion in my mouth. He doesn?t use fake cheese which I both appreciate (fewer calories and respect (he still pulls it off! . It?s betterthan any vegan pizza I?ve had, fake cheese or not. I think he uses shallots, garlic, peppers, tomatoes, za?atar, basil, someother ingredients? not sure exactly but it?s incredible. The crust is soft and delicious too! This restaurant was included inEater's 38 Essential Restaurants in Portland Oct 2021 list.
This pizza reminds you that food is supposed to be art for your tastebuds. We had the Calzone and Ricotta pie. Tastebuds had a jolly time with that wonderfully salted ricotta. And the calzone was the best calzone I?ve ever eaten. So juicy and flavorfulwithout the typical over-breadiness you find at other spots. Also, pretty impressive to see the entire op being run but oneperson. An extra bonus to be served by the chef himself! Put this place on your list as a must try!
Some of the best pizza we 've had in Portland (the only contender for us, so far, has been Scottie 's which is a different style of pizza altogether). Just be prepared to put an order in online or to get there soon after opening because they frequently sellout. If dining in, they have a perfect little courtyard and you can grab drinks from the bar next door.
