My partner and I have come to the town for the first time and attended this restaurant after a high recommendation. This was the worst service we have ever had! When making the booking, we marked down that we were there for an anniversary (3 years) and we couldn’t be more disappointed. A two hour sitting and once our order was placed, we were not checked on once. Not even for drinks… However, the table behind us who knew one or more of the staff were checked on numerous times. When our meals were finally brought out they were placed on the tables and the staff couldn’t get away quicker. I say finally because the entree took 5 minutes but the main was at least a 45-60 minute wait. The food was delicious, nothing against the chef! We even discussed wanting dessert, however no staff asked if we wanted any… so we never ordered. We even watched the staff behind the till closing up for the night after we waited at least 15 minutes post main meal. The moment the waitress asked the table behind us if they wanted final drinks but walked straight past us, we gave up. We had such high hopes for this place as it was so hard to get into. There wasn’t even a “how was your night/meal” as we paid. Just produced an eftpos machine. For a small town restaurant, I’ve never felt more dismissed.
We stayed in Jindabyne for 3 nights and had dinner here twice, deciding after our first visit that the food was so good that we would return. We particularly liked the smoked trout sushi, and the mochi ball dessert. Service was excellent. I would definitely return if we were to return to Jindabyne.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at this Japanese restaurant. The share entree plates were just amazing. Loved the trout sushi roll, the sashimi , edamame and fried chicken. Little disappointed with choice of mains but will definitely go back next year !
The food was amazing and authentic, staff and service was warm and friendly. Had a wonderful time, cocktail and wine selection was also brilliant.
With not many food options around the area, we decided to give this place a try. The staff seemed angry to work there and did not seem friendly. We ordered dishes to share and they were not particularly large servings. The dishes were overpriced and did not stand out as exceptionally tasty. The best was the ramen. It was tasty egg came in extra at $2 each. The overall experience was not what we expected for such high prices but maybe that is something that one may just need to expect when dining in this area.
