As usual we got everything from hot tea, homemade hummus plate, TLT (as the BLT just say better) As I expected, she loved ABSECON everything. The atmosphere, the service, the costs to get the location in their list when visited.
This place is a gem, hidden away in Johnson City's modest downtown. I've been going here regularly for a couple years now and have never had a bad experience. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or omni, there's a terrific selection of great food, drinks, and dessert to select from.
Such a cute cafe! Delicious food and smoothies! Don’t forget the gluten free dessert options when they have it! Will be back many times.
A beautiful little cafe with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food is always delicious and I look forward to returning soon!
In addition to a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and dietary preferences, they also offer a cocktail menu, along with an extensive selection of wines and teas. I particularly appreciated that they can craft lattes made to order with any of their teas—warm or iced, sweet or unsweetened. I opted for a tea latte with chocolate cream truffle tea, which was not only visually appealing, topped with foam and dusted with cocoa powder, but also deliciously smooth. For my meal, I had the Tempeh Reuben and a side of Kale Slaw, both of which were fantastic! Each component of the sandwich was flavorful, and together they created a perfect balance. I was thrilled to see this option on the menu, as I love the classic Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and sauce combination of a traditional Reuben but cannot eat meat, so enjoying it with Tempeh was wonderful. I also tried my dad's vegetarian chili, which was quite tasty and had a pleasantly sweet twist compared to most chilis I’ve tried. For dessert, I chose the vegan chocolate cupcake. While it wasn't as exciting as the other dishes I had, it was still enjoyable, and the shredded coconut on top was a delightful addition. Overall, I would definitely return to this place! They also have dinner specials and occasional unique offerings that I'm eager to explore.
