One cook was too busy flirting with customers or telling coworkers all about his newest female to focus on food getting overcooked. Several items were beyond edible as they were tough to chew. Service was great other than that. Would go back.
Sorry, this review is for the Huhot in a different city. I can not speak to the Rapid City location, except that our experience at the Spokane location deterred us from even considering this location as a dining option. I didn 't enjoy how the food was cooked. The sauces just stuck to the grill and did not flavour the food. If they mix the food immediately after putting it on the grill, the sauce may stick better to the food rather than the grill. (They just let it sizzle dry before they mixed it) Then they wouldn 't have to scrape off all the nasty charred sauce that got all over the cook 's feet. Speaking of which, the floor was very slippery and greasy. UGH! Vegetarian options: Everyones food touches everyone else 's. Items get mixed together even in the selection area. I 've been to other Mongolian restaurants that are more spacious, so there is less cross contamination
I'm pleased to change my review after giving this place another try. I'm not sure what happened with my online order the last time I ordered, but it was much better this time when I went in person. The food you can get for $15 is great. You can pretty much get as much as you want if you can fit it in the bowl for to-go orders, plus steamed white rice if you want. Not to mention the variety of sauces they offer. Very much worth the money this time. Based on my previous experience, I would not recommend ordering online through doordash
Wednesday July 31st, 8p.m., just before opening day of Sturgis. You can see from the pictures that the restaurant was filthy, with very few customers. Manager was on her phone, one person was restocking food, many of the bins had different veg mixed all together. There was one table in the dining room that had what looked like a party with snacks and so on and there was a girl at another table that had blankets and stuffed animals (circled in blue) that may have been someone's daughter. At one point she got up and went into the kitchen. The only one who was working their butt off was the cook and he was struggling to keep up. He should have received all the tips that night but I'm sure he had to split them. Since I don't live there it will be easy to say I won't be back.
