We had a perfect Sunday afternoon. Thanks to Emma for sharing the warmth of Westcott Vineyards’ wines and wood burning fireplace. No better place to share a cold winter afternoon with my beautiful wife. Thank you.
I stopped in for a quick tasting and tried 4 of their wines. I am by no means a connoisseur of wine but I thought they weren’t too bad. The location is super cute, with a nice fireplace to keep it warm in the winter. The service was incredible, the staff there were so friendly and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself!!
We visited this winery on a Saturday evening in August, hoping for a nice wine tasting experience and dinner. After reading positive reviews and seeing pictures of the lovely view from the outside deck, we decided to give it a try. However, our experience was quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, whether it was a server or the owner. Some of the people inside seemed tipsy. We went out to the patio, and again, there was no one there. But we noticed some customers sitting outside. When we returned inside, one of the men called someone, and a woman eventually came to greet us. It seemed like she had difficulty speaking English, and communication was a bit challenging for her toward us.We sat at a table and waited for a menu and someone to take our order, which took about 10 minutes. The staff was not prepared to explain the differences between the wines/grapes, and they simply listed whatever was on the menu. After taking our order, we decided to move to one of the available couches to have a better view of the surroundings as the golden hour was approaching.Another waitress brought our wines and placed them on a tray without any explanation or directions. And then she simply lett withouth saying anything. There were small cards next to each wine, but they provided no information about the grapes or anything else. This lack of effort was disappointing because wine tasting is often about the experience and learning about the wines.Additionally, we found their wines to be nothing special and kind of expensive too. There are many other wineries, less known but offering much higher quality and flavor wine not to mention the staff. Overall, it was an awkward and unsatisfying experience. I'm giving it 1 stars only for the panoramic view.
What a wonderful winery. It was our first visit to Ontario wine region, but we are experienced wine drinkers. Jessica led us on a wonderful tasting. She was attentive to our individual tasting preferences. My wife loves the Chardonnay while I was very pleased with Pinot noir. We enjoyed wine overlooking the vineyard. What a great day.
