Don's Mai Tai Bar Restaurant

Early April 2022: While in a nearby Liquor shop, one of their customers recommended this place to us when we bought Mai Tai Mix to have home with our dinner. So next night, this was our mission. We were with some locals who knew the secret, no pay parking and went a short distance to the resort for Happy Hour. I had the Classic Mai Tai, my third while on the island (I am on a taste test for the best between Hawaii and Honolulu). It was very good, but I have seen the menu with the flight of Mai Tais, so my group said, let it order. My mouth is still watering the thought of enjoying this flight again. From AZ we were able to replace May Rita and it was also good. It was hard to choose a favorite of the four. Anyway, the service and the ambience were wonderful. I definitely come back.

Great location! The perfect place to relax and in the Hawaiian atmosphere. Breakfast here is excellent and you will leave full because the portions are quite large. The hamburger patty on rice with egg and gravy upstairs was something I had never tried anywhere before and I loved it! The bananas on earth rebounds were also excellently guilty. The highlight is the location!!! The view of the sea and the waves that rush towards the shore is what makes this a unique Hawaiian experience. You will relax here and enjoy the view.

The pasta and all desserts, where amazing. The fried fish was good, I think it was Snapper. The flight needed more liqueurs and less juice. I'm a light weight and I'm sober. Oil

Beautiful outdoor bar on the water at the Royal Kona Hotel. The drinks and coconut yarns were delicious! They have music from 5-7:00 on Thursday night. It was a wonderful evening at the end of July 2022.

What an amazing place to watch the sunset! I love all the open air seating. They have a fantastic happy hour. And there are so many different flights to choose from if you’re not sure what drink to choose. My bestie and I split the Mai Tai flight so we could try a little of each, and it was superb. For dinner, I had the shredded pork street tacos, and they were ahhh-mazing! Not just a tiny bit amazing, but like, makes you want to lick the bottom of your plate when you’re done amazing. And it had a bit of heat to it too, and anyone that knows me, knows I like spicy, so it was right up my alley. And our server (sorry I didn’t get his name), was top notch too. All in all, great place, great food, great drinks, what more can you really ask for? Just go! You won’t regret it.
