Our order got mixed up and my food arrived late after everyone else had finished eating, so I had it packed to-go. The server seemed rushed or disinterested in their job, maybe just having a bad day, but the service didn't feel welcoming despite the traditional greetings from the sushi chef. I brought my Japanese cousin to my mother's favorite Japanese restaurant in Kailua, but the service made me question her choice.
Don’t be in a hurry! Service is spotty but you don’t mind as they try and are simply understaffed but gracious and accommodating. Food was great! Fresh and fairly priced.
Very quaint place, the food was very tasty and the chef was very skilled.
Noboru was one of our favorite Japanese restaurants on the windward side. We hadn't been there in many years and decided to revisit it. There weren't many customers but the food service was very slow. Our server was pleasant and the ambiance seemed familiar; however, the vibe was very different. Food came out one dish at a time with the rice being the very last item. Our party was large but not too large for the confusion of items for each of us. We probably won't return.
