La Prime - Kalkbaai iNingizimu Afrika

Our server-Norma was wonderful! She was funny and kind. The space was very nice and the food was very good. The only problem we had were 1) there was a table next to us that was so loud it was virtually impossible to enjoy the atmosphere, and the 2) problem was that the kitchen was so backed it took forever to get our food. Other then that it was very lovely.

The service was considerably underwhelming. The server often forgot about us, and we were seated in a section very far away from other people. We had to beg for bread and continuously ask for our sever to be sent over. All of the staff seem very elderly, which is a factor regarding the speed of service and level of attentiveness. I would not book here again, and certainly not for any special occasion.

We were celebrating a birthday at LA Prime. We began our celebration at the revolving lounge where our wonderful cocktail server named Dace served our drinks. Dace was charming, engaging and efficient. We then went up to LA Prime for our 6:00 reservation, where once again, our hostess, whose name I regrettably am unable to recall, greeted us with a smile and escorted us to our table. We were served our water and bread by a delightful young man Roberto. Roberto was attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. Rafael was our dinner waiter. Again, Rafael was engaging and very attentive to our needs. He answered all questions we had about the menu and made recommendations. Our dinner was beautifully presented and delicious. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as requested and the salad and sides were perfect. To top the evening off, the restaurant came out with a large plate with a piece of mousse cake with a candle and a Happy Birthday written across the one side of the plate with his name in chocolate. It really closed the evening perfectly. If you have not eaten at LA Prime or had drinks at the Revolving Lounge at the Bonaventure, do yourself a favor and go and experience a wonderful time. Thank you to all who made this birthday celebration so enjoyable.

Does not provide the elevated experience for the money, simple as that.

I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. We arrived here without reservation and were seated without a long wait. Our server Raphael out did himself and went above and beyond. I highly recommend the New York Strip steak or the Prime Burger.
