We had often eaten in a pacific cafe. the famous chef had returned to kapaa and appetited. there were 3 of us, reservations around 1700. obviously sat the bar, server were great. we started with the jo 3 fish appetiser. roasted otopus, ahi collar and a poched salmon. the half of the otopus was delicate and tasty the other half super-chauy. the collar was a bit too cared for in some sharing, the salmon was fantastic. we followed with curry califlower, amazing. dee salat, my dining room partner is all about it and ate it all. tempura bohnensalat, crispy and tasty. the roasted fennel was super complex. I would have it as a matter of principle. the risotto was forgettable and was as late as the laughter. If we know how great cook we will return. I have longed for the Firecracker reels from past. the price was very reasonable.
Excellent restaurant. we ate at jo2 twice in 3 days as it was so good. overall my wife and I had 8 appetizers and 1 main course. all were consistently good what is unusual for a restaurant. the ravioli, calliflower and carrot dumplings were especially unforgettable.
Our evening dinner here in the mai so much that it is the third reservation we made (after hotel and flight) for our visit in oktober. local, fresh food prepared professionally and served in a casually raised hole in the wall. Probably the best eating on the island so that we are worth eating here.
We always make sure to have dinner a couple of times when we visit Kauai. Great unique approach to local proteins and veggies.
