Holstein schnitzel was generous on the caviar, and the breaded variety of schnitzel was juicy and tender. Perogies weren't as impressive, but not bad at all. Atmosphere is not too fancy, but just classy enough for a date. Place is clean, quiet, and the service is warm. Happy to have found this place, would go back again. Dinner entrees are around ~23, and worth it.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic! It is my absolute favorite place for schnitzel in KWC. The schnitzels are always made fresh to order. The homemade soups at the salad bar are great, especially the Chorba. I love the tomato and cucumber salad. The addition of edam cheese is a delightful touch, whether it's served as a breaded cheese appetizer or inside a Tyrolian schnitzel. I seriously can't get enough of this place and could eat here every day.
I would give this restaurant a solid 4 stars! The location is great, just off King Street with a large window that lets in natural light, making the dining area feel open. I arrived at noon and was seated right away, but keep in mind that the restaurant can only seat a maximum of 30 people, so it's best to make reservations if you plan on going with a group. Many people were turned away as the restaurant fills up quickly. The service was quick and attentive, with staff constantly refilling water and clearing plates. The food selection may be limited, but it's all about quality over quantity. I'm not an expert on schnitzel, but the food was delicious. The lunch buffet included soup, salad, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, perogies, chicken schnitzel, Vienna schnitzel, farmer's sausage, sour cream, and mushroom gravy - all prepared in-house and constantly replenished. The chicken schnitzel was particularly enjoyable, with a perfect seasoning, crunchy panko coating, and moist center. The meal was finished off with rolls and a chocolate fudge cake, accompanied by freshly ground coffee. I will definitely be returning, although the only downside is that there is no on-site parking, only street parking or paid lots.
Best Schnitzel in Town. The place was cozy had a homey feeling. The schnitzel was nice, thin very tender. Great food excellent service at a fair price. Highly recommended.
Totally different from other local schnitzel places, and definitely worth trying this one. A big meaty schnitzel with a light breading and delicate seasoning. They put Caraway seeds in the sauerkraut, which is amazing. Other Hungarian treats like goulash and perogies on the menu.
