One of the finest star category hotels in Kolkata, Oceanic has now reopened after a long hiatus, while abiding to the safety regulations and hygiene norms. Starting from entering the hotel premises, where you get screened for Arogya Setu status, thermometer checks, sanitization spray for your hand and luggage, noting down your credentials on the entry book, to the strict ruled adhered to inside the restaurant is perhaps more than enough reasons, why you should venture out here, to have a meal, without any concern or doubts.<br/ <br/ The food is screened by a transparent partition, where the guests aren’t allowed to cross and touch the food, instead, you get to see what is there in store for you, which you can then politely request the attendant, who is thoroughly checked for temperature and health perspectives, hands you over the bowl of your choice onto your plate. Not only this ensures minimal contact and touch, this also helps in reducing any excess food wastage, which usually happens in case of a buffet, where we tend to overdo on the portion size scooping on to our plate, mostly leading to us not finishing our food and leaving scraps just to be thrown away.<br/ <br/ The food is mouthwatering as usual, the rice, the Arhar Dal Tadka, Shahi Paneer, the Bhindi Do Pyaza, Potato Ridge Gourd Curry, to Egg Plant Parmesana, Thai Vegetable Green Curry, Burnt Garlic Noodles, Kung Pao Prawns, Poulet a’la king, Fish Curry and Biryani, everything was prepared with perfection and finesse. A couple of cold salads, dressings, soups, cold cut vegetables, cheese to go on with the main course, and then moving straight to the desserts having the traditional Mishti Doi, Cupcakes, Sugar Free Sandesh, Goja and a couple of other sweet delicacies to tickle your tastebuds. You can also take advantage of the live counters to fulfil your starter cravings.<br/ <br/ The prices have been kept at a nominal amount of Rs. 999/ , all inclusive which is quite an advantage, considering the usual prices these buffets are set at. And while you are at it, do not forget to check the ongoing Hilsa Festival at its sister restaurant Aaheli, the fine dining Bengali restaurant. <br/ <br/ <br/ #oceanic #thepeerlessinn #buffet #newnormal #whenstomachtickles
The experience was good and also the food quality but the portion of food is not up to the mark quality must get raise.<br/ <br/ Overall good experience, good place for hangout with friends and family.
U seek aristocratic hospitality The Peerless Inn can one of the bests. We knock at the door of ' Oceanic ' and it was a lavish buffet. Starters were scrumptious....in the likes of kababs, spring rolls, small pizzas etc. Live chat counter was also available.<br/ <br/ Here u can wet ur throat by fresh mocktails . U find mutton biriyani, fried rice, chowmin, fish, chicken, paneer, mutton when it comes to the main course. But these are pretty average in taste.<br/ <br/ Last but not the list ..... Wow such a palatable dessert... cupcakes, mousse, Indian sweets, misti doi, pastries, ice cream and lots more. Overall such a memorable experience. We recommend it to the food lovers.
Very beautiful place food quality is very good, deserts are the most attractive thing here
We visited this place for the lunch buffet. Ambience was pleasant and aristocratic. Staff were courteous and helpful. Prices are as usual on the steeper side. Now coming to food: wine and milkshake were served as welcome drink. In starters, there were paneer, babycorn, fish and chicken items. In main course, noodles, rice, roti, paratha, fish, paneer and chicken items were in abundance. There was no mutton or prawn preparation. There was a live chaat counter also. The showstopper was the dessert counter. Indian sweets like jalebi, rosogolla, gulab jamun, sandesh were present along with muffins, pastries, cheesecakes and cupcakes. Overall, it was okay.
