It's an exceedingly cute little beach town that boasts a couple stores/restaurants, including this one. The menu was surprisingly vast but given the somewhat Hawaiian vibe, I figured I should get something a little authentically tropical, so I ordered the Luncheon Meat Sandwich. It's not great. It's essentially a fried piece of processed meat placed inside two slices of toasted white bread. That's it. No condiments or accompaniments of any sort. It's very plain and super dry and just not a lot of fun to eat. I don't get this concoction at all, really.
As a local I am more accustomed to how much things should be. When I asked for the bill they said $60, then they gave me back $35 instead and said it should be $65. I order a dish that cost $45 and a lemon tea only, and a tea won't cause $20 in such an establishment. It's all very petty and I didn't even bother to argue and just left, but dishonesty should be discouraged. If you are not local make sure u check the bill for I am sure they won't just aim an extra $5. Nice weather good location and okay food after a hike, which most people won't care for extra changes and think if it as tips, but giving in our free will is different from being lied to. Plenty other hawker shops nearby.
The food is great and the beer is cold! Come as you are, fresh from a hike on the trail or straight out of the beautiful water after a morning surf. Great culture, excellent service, very fair prices
