Don Bravo - La Jolla

A classic Bird Rock institution that’s been around for decades. The food is great and the salsas are even better! I love the habanero and tomatillo salsas so much here. The chicken and lobster tacos are super flavorful and juicy as well. As you eat, you can sit on the back porch and see the Pacific Ocean! They even have a food truck in their parking lot that serves other off-menu items like menudo and pozole. This is a great option for Mexican in Bird Rock/North Pacific Beach!

Popped in here for an early dinner having driven by and caught the eye.Ordered 3 tacos,rice and chips between 2 of us. Tacos were Shrimp, Mahi Mahi and Beef. All excellent. Sat on the terrace at the back overlooking the car park but don’t let that put you off. It wasn’t packed but there was a steady stream of customers.

It was $65 for two people. Chips, two 2 taco plates and 2 margaritas. It was bland and there was seemingly no alcohol in the drink. The asada lacked flavor and was gristly. Chicken was better. Overall, not good. Not bad but not worth the money. No flavor.

Such amazing Mexican food! We had an outstanding time! Absolutely recommend!
