This place looks like nothing but the food is delicious. I had chicken breast for lunch which was cooked on point. The owner speaks little english but communication was possible. In the evenings there seems to be some events since they have a stage but this noon i could enjoy a nice quiet meal. Der ort sieht nach wenig aus, aber das essen köstlich. Ich hatte hähnchenbrust zum mittag und mehr als zufrieden! Abends wird hier wahrscheinlich mehr los sein, aber konnte die ruhe genießen.
Dinning in an authentic industrial building with surprising decoration made with lots of love. Sgr. Luis Toribio Delgado was serving great fresh and homemade menus and the chocolate mousse and creme Amaretto were fantastic. The prices are very low compared to the high quality of the food and you will be surprised when you get the bill. A place you have to be because you will feel like home. :
10 minutes drive out of Puerto De la Cruz and 5 minutes from La Orotava you wind up at a corrugated industrial building. Inside is spacious with a long bar one end and a stage for musicians the other end, there is lots of seating inside and some seating outside. The waiter comes and tells you what is on the menu, there is no menu as such, we chose tuna croquettes, a salad, a entrecôte steak with chips and a bottle of white wine. Everything was great and cooked really well, for such an industrial looking place this place is definitely more refined than your average guachinche, even down to the nice wine glasses. My only criticism once again is that despite making it perfectly clear in Spanish that I don’t eat meat, and despite choosing an item on the menu that I was told was fish, I cut into a croquette and found it was ham, in fact out of the 8 croquettes I had, 5 were tuna and 3 were ham. The waiter and chef were very good about it, and made me another 4 tuna croquettes. It’s just really exasperating when I can’t make it any clearer that I don’t eat meat and I chose something that isn’t meat, any yet frustratingly I still get given meat. Salad was nice, you are never quite sure what you will get when you order a salad in a guachinche, it really can include just about anything and everything, this one had really tasty mushrooms on it. My partner had a steak which was cooked perfectly and for dessert we had a delicious home-made creamy amaretto dish. Everything was really reasonable, great meal with great wine for less than €40, we would definitely come here again, maybe when a bands on next time.
Ideal location with parking, exterior terrace with views to the Valley of the Orotava and the Puerto de la Cruz. Beautiful view, especially if you catch the sunset. Local white wine from Orotava was a surprise, sweet and fruity, best I tried so far on the island. Food was fresh, tasty, and you could just see that everything is homemade. Be sure to visit this place if you are near by!
