Decor sticky, menu expensive, eat moderate. we ordered courts of the day. Lamb-Starter was a good idea, but bland, needed a spicy and garlic. turbot looked more like halibut and was overcooked. the vegetables were basic (cooked potatoes, carrots and roasted charcoal) really uninteresting. the wine list was not overpriced at the lower end. the Portuguese red of symington was worth remembering. service was excellent and staff very friendly, but overall it was a disappointing evening.
Food was nice but over priced. While the staff are very nice the decor is extremely pretentious and borderline tacky
Without doubt the highlight of our trip. The food was of course excellent. The John Dory was beautiful. However what made this so good was the wonderful staff. I was truly blown away by the genuinely warm and friendly service. I have eaten on every...continent in some of the best restaurants and none can compare to the welcome we received. They should be proud of themselves. We most certainly were. Thank you so much Michael and Linda.
We were a walk in couple based on TA reviews. From the moment we entered we were treated so warmly and welcoming A beautiful surroundings only surpassed by the staff. Michael and Linda were an absolute treat to deal with. Incredibly personable and friendly. Great...banter with both of them. The food was excellent bread with dips and an amuse bouche as standard was a lovely touch. Scallops were lovely and pork belly well recommended for starters. Steak and John Dory were also delicious. Very accommodating to change sides to side salads etc. A delightful evening with exceptional hosts. Would definitely visit again. Would love to see if the hotel matches the restaurant- next time!
