Uncle Joes Pizza - Lake Grove

Yummy neighborhood. It's been here for years! Always a wide selection of pizzas available!

So, I cheated on my usual pizza place here (I know, sacrilege) when I needed to kill time and feed three small (5f, 6f, 6m) with short attention spans and minimal table manners on one day with their aunt. The staff was so nice and patient when I used my little nibbles to the restaurant, did what we needed to do in the bathroom, and ate REALLY good pizza. Would recommend 1000%.

Minestrone soup is pretty much pasta soup with a few vegetables in there and chicken cutlet hoagie was anyway. The staff was friendly but was not delivered a spoon with my soup togo.

I had high hopes when I saw the restaurant's high rating, but was disappointed. The pizza was even worse than Dominos. The sauce was overly sweet and tasted cheap. The cheese was barely noticeable. It tasted like cardboard with a cheap Ragu sauce. I can't believe it has a 4.6 rating. No way.

I am not one to post reviews but when I feel like I wasted money for food that was horrible I need to let folks know. Went there to find that Uncle Joe's in under new ownership. Although I was told Uncle Joe is still part of it but now able to take lots of time off. After I ordered I realized that I only saw 1 familiar face. So I asked is this under new ownership to be told yes. Wish I would have known prior to placing my order as I just did not like what I saw with the workers. However what is most important is the food. Unfortunately not only is Uncle Joe and his wife and son gone so is the great food. Specialty slice the dough was not cooked all the way. The crust was cooked but the flat bottom part was not. It was disgusting to say the least. Regular pizza was also disgusting per my husband and he eats almost anything so that says a lot. We as a family have been coming here since 1998 when we moved in, unfortunately last night was the last time. Uncle Joe, your wife (sorry I am not remembering her name) and Anthony if you read this no one can replace you guys and you will be sorely missed in many aspects. The great food you put out for all those years and the amazing rapport you all had with the customers will never be matched.
