All the food I've ever eaten there is fresh and at the appropriate temperature. The staff is friendly and courteous. During a time when we have to take extra precaution, they go the extra mile to make sure everything is clean and safe. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant. It's a hidden treasure! You have to try the hot pastrami, it's my fav!!
Tried this place out after hearing that they had the best Philly Cheese steak around. It was pretty good, but I think I may have built it up in my head too much. The place is small. We were the only ones there when we arrived, and it took a while for the food to come out. The Philly was pretty good. The tenders and toast was also pretty good--chicken tenders on french toast with a spicy maple syrup. Overall, it was good. We will probably be back to try other things on the menu.
Great breakfast! I got the French toast with eggs, hash brown, and sausage patty. This French toast is the best I've had in Lakeland. It was just the right amount of vanilla and fluffiness. The hash brown was nice and crispy, unlike some places that serve you a soggy, oily version. The sausage patty was pretty standard, but the eggs were perfectly cooked. It's nice to have a place that knows how to do a proper over-medium egg. I'm only giving 4 stars because the coffee tasted a little watered down and the ambience is a bit drab... But don't let that deter you. The food was quite good. I look forward to trying some stuff off their lunch menu (BTW they serve both lunch and breakfast all day).
Kind people, good food fair prices. The Turkey Club BLT are a must try, and you will love all the different Chip flavors! Also take a minute enjoy the we are friends atmosphere. For us We will be a back ASAP! God Bless!!
I had been eager to try their reuben, so I called yesterday to place an order, but unfortunately, they were out of rye bread. No worries—I opted for the cheesesteak sandwich, and that turned out to be an excellent choice. The bread was soft and warm, without the burnt or overly crunchy texture I've encountered at other places. I ordered it as they typically prepare it, and it was absolutely delicious! That made it 2 out of 2 so far. Today, I called back to check if they had rye bread again, as I really wanted to try the reuben, my all-time favorite sandwich. I let the gentleman on the phone know that I didn't want thousand island dressing on mine; I prefer it with yellow mustard, as I used to order from a little deli in Chicago that made it that way. To my surprise, he said he enjoys his reubens the same way—something I've never heard in over 25 years! I picked up the sandwich, and it was one of the closest reuben sandwiches I've had to that special one from my childhood up north. So far, this café is 3 for 3! I can see myself returning frequently to this place. The only downside might be its small size. You could call it one of those hidden gems that serve fantastic food. I appreciate that it's veteran-owned, and from my experiences, the staff works together like a family. While it may not be the ideal spot to invite a group of 20 for breakfast or lunch, for larger parties, just grab takeout. If you're looking for a quick bite alone or with one companion, this is definitely the place for breakfast or lunch! Thank you to the Edgewood Café staff for providing such a wonderful dining option just five minutes from my workplace!
