He brought only one bowl of French onion soup instead of two and was rather brusque, showing little concern for making the evening feel special. To make matters worse, he charged us for the birthday dessert. We decided we'll be heading to the Gourmet Room next time instead.
I should have gone for the steak! The lobster ravioli and crab cakes sounded really appealing at the time, but they both tasted like they were made with canned seafood as the main ingredient, just dressed up a bit. The bread was good, though! Haha!
I've seen some reviews explaining why they rated it lower than 4 stars, and if your reason is related to the prices or dress code, you really should do a bit more research first. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and overall dining experience justify it. It's important to remember that there are also more affordable dining options available; it’s not all expensive. And please keep in mind that people visit this restaurant for the experience, so dressing appropriately isn’t too much to ask.
The food is incredibly overpriced for what you get. The restaurant itself feels outdated. The only highlights for me were the complimentary bread and the prime rib, which was decent. However, at $40 for a 16oz serving, I'd much prefer to go to Salt Grass.
