I love a good kolache and/or klobasnek. Texans are spoiled with good food brought in by immigrants from all over. This is a great example. Outside of the magic that happens in West, TX, I've struggled to find really good kolaches in the Austin area. All the donut shops sell them but they are only ok. I got turned on to Weikel's up in Leander and decided to give them a shot on my most recent road trip. Glad I did. I was very pleased with both the Klobasnek, which used great bread and truly good sausage, as well as several type of fruit Koloches. It is located in a gas station, but that station is new and clean. The staff were friendly. Communication wasn't the easiest but pointing always wins the day. I say stop by and give them a try. I'll bet you'll be glad you did.
Top tier gas station breakfast tacos because of the amazing salsa bar. I should have taken a picture. I ate both before we left the parking lot (potato, egg, and cheese grab-n-go because I’m vegetarian and we were in a rush, but there was also a whole menu you could order off of . Also bought a six pack of kolaches, a cinnamon roll, and a loaf of banana bread/cake. Amazing drink and ice cream selection (Lick, Jeni’s, etc. . They had Snapple flavors I’ve never seen.
Have stopped here twice to get fuel. The first time all of the pumps were out of service and the second time the credit card reader wouldn't work. Fuel is also far more expensive here than the other stations nearby, so don't bother using this location to fill up. It's far more expensive and completely unreliable.
Gas is significantly higher than other stations in the area. Half of the pumps don't work. Disappointing visit if you're trying to get fuel.
