Unfortunately, my meal had a strange taste and I was unable to eat it. The menu didn't offer many options, but I guess that's to be expected from a restaurant located on a back street.
I had a great time with friends at this restaurant. The food was superb and the staff were lovely. I'll make sure to stop by when I come back to Leicester.
Came with a friend on two separate occasions. Went with a butter chicken served hot on a recommendation and can honestly say one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Lovely local family-ran pub/curry house which is an absolute gem in Aylestone.
Brilliant home style Punjabi cuisine with great prices. Thanks for a great day and service Great Bar. Recommend goat, kebab, chicken tikka, garlic naan. Best fish pakore ever.
Visited with friends on a Saturday night as we were up in Leicester for a wedding the following day. Did a bit of research and decided on this restaurant as we wanted traditional punjabi mixed grill type food.. we were not disappointed with the food at all.. we found the place on a backstreet and in the middle of houses.. the decor really needs updating but I know the family have a lot on and are working hard amid tough circumstances.. my only problem is the flat beer that was being served.. it did ruin the meal a little to be honest.. Being lovers of a lager or 2 with a curry, me and my friend were annoyed at the quality of the cobra served on tap.. please please clean your f beer pipes prince of Punjab.. the family who own this place are great and work really hard.. typical punjabi mentality. Lovely bunch. We did also want to order the “challenge” that made this place famous by Randy Santel but it could not be prepared as the owners son is in hospital.. hope he gets well soon.. we ordered some vegetarian starters and a big mixed grill to start and the food was quality and the portions were very generous.. kids enjoyed the meals. The karahi lamb was gorgeous and the paratheh with the curry went very well.. I had a break from naan bread lol plenty of nice dishes on the menu and prices are amazingly affordable.. proper punjabi place and I would say that if you are in the area then please go to try the lovely food. Don’t be put off by the decor.. lovely family.. lovely food
