We were driving through NE and after a quick search and a little diversion away from 80 found ourselves at Madeline's. They have a great location which gives people the chance to see an older part of Lexington. The menu is great for on the go food but the inside is clean and relaxing. It will definitely be a stopping point for us on future trips.
I wanted to try the pasta garage for a while, so I was really excited when we made the trip. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as expected. The service was friendly, but the food was missing something. I went back and forth between a 4 and 5 stars, as some of my reviews were personal, but ultimately the food was not hot. The pasta itself was very fresh, but I am a sauce and my Ragu Alla Bolognese was under sauce and had three small pieces of meat. When I looked at other Google chicks before our visit, I saw the dish and it had more sauce than mine when it was served. My husband had the baked ravioli and it was a much better dish and had a great taste. I wasn't a big fan of her bread sticks because they were a little luscious for me, but that's just personal preference. The portion size of both dishes was very good.
Pasta garage, pasta garage, pasta garage. I live now from the state and dream of the chicken parmigiana. Every time I'm in Lexington, I need Pasta Garage. They make their dishes in their own kitchen. Your noodles are made from scratch and you can say the difference. Angel, who has been working for a few years, is always there when I go and he is always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Renovations and art have also improved the atmosphere during eating. The paintings of the Bourbon speak Kentucky and make me feel like I'm around good company and good food.
I don't know how to explain how much I love this place differently than to say in a single 3-day trip, I went every day! Yes a little over the top, but it happened by chance as in the city for a conference the lunch company that wanted to join me every day Italian. Luckily, their menu is so diverse that I never have the same twice! I love their pasta sauce all being freshened in the house! I personally like to make my own bowls, but in several trips over 2 stays in the Lex area in the 3 years I also tried som clamps. You cannot go wrong with much on the menu! It is close to United Kingdom the Campbell House Hilton Hotel Downtown Lex. You would miss if you skipped it!
