Southern Inn - Lexington

We have dined at the Southern Inn twice while visiting from out of town. The service is excellent, they are welcoming to children, and the food is delicious. Be sure to leave space for dessert!

Very good food and the service was good. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary. I should have asked for a table in dining room when making reservations. The bar area was noisy. But overall, our meals were delicious. Cheese plate, pork loin and duck as entrees. Pecan pie for dessert..yum

My wife and I don't often eat out, especially at high-end restaurants like the Southern Inn. However, we decided to splurge for our 53rd wedding anniversary. We were hoping for a perfect experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We tried using the table selection option on OpenTable, but it wasn't working, so we ended up at a table near the bar. The noise level escalated throughout the evening, making it hard to have a quiet meal. This may have contributed to my salmon special being undercooked - I had requested it to be well-done. I should have sent it back, but I didn't want to embarrass my wife, so I only ate part of it. My wife enjoyed her fried green tomato appetizer, but the calamari was just average. Overall, I would recommend the Southern Inn with some reservations, but we will probably choose a different upscale restaurant for our next special occasion.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our waitress, who is a college student working during the summer, was friendly and attentive. We never had to ask for more water - she was on top of everything. The combination of her great service and the tasty food made our visit even better. The prices are very reasonable as well. If we are ever in town again, we will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

We unexpectedly added an extra person to our party which gave the staff an unusual table configuration at a busy time. They couldn’t have been nicer. The entrees were all quite tasty and service was prompt and friendly. Recommending the duck breast
