We went in and it was beautiful inside too. We told the hostess we would like to set outside. Hostess Sorry we have a party. OK well we are just getting wine. So she sat us at a table. I wanted to get a flight but they don 't do that there. I said how much are samples? 3.00. Are they big for that price. 1/4 glass small glass mind you. By the way its a limit of 3. WHAT? I decided to leave. I love wine but I want to know what I am getting is something I will like or love drinking. Too Expensive. I wish I would have read all the google reviews. Although it is beautiful on the outside it 's an ugly duckling on your wallet and service!
This is a local staple in my hometown. Anytime I go visit family, this is likely where we are getting food. I haven't had a single meal from here I don't like! We started with an appetizer and a bottle of wine. They have a big assortment of fruit wines which I'm not too fond of but I know they are a local favorite. Give me the driest red on the menu. The new building is spectacular. It would be great for a wedding venue. I think there was a birthday party on the patio while we were there. Props to the Beilstein family for such a beautiful building. It was pretty busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. We tried to get a reservation about a week ahead because it's always been busy in my experience, but I was told they no longer do reservations. Given that it was busy, our waitress, although very friendly, was slow. We eventually were asked if we would like our waters refilled when she brought out the check. And we watched the party of two sat and get their drinks and an appetizer before our bottle was brought to the table. I've been here many times, so I'll chalk the service up to them being busy and let it slide, given that I will more likely than not be back soon!
I hate to denigrate a local business, but lots of changes need to be made here. The positive points: the self pick blueberries are a great pastime. The gift shop looked nice. On the other hand, for the restaurant specifically, there's not much good to say. The food was expensive and just this side of school cafeteria quality. No one in our party had anything good to say about their meal. Some felt a bit ill after eating. The service was extremely slow albeit friendly. Only a fraction of the available tables were occupied and people were walking away from the hostess stand after hearing it would be an hour wait. And it was easily that long an hour from the time we sat down until our food came out. I heard a rumor that the servers were all new. The same must have been true for the cooks and whoever designed the menu as well. It was a regrettable visit. Hopefully maybe with some more training for the staff and a new menu this otherwise growing business will be able to right the ship.
Gréât ambiance. Live music on Friday night. We are stopping in after berry picking after a hot day at mid Ohio raceway. I'm very impressed with their bushes!! The sweet blueberry wine is a bit tart but good. $22/bottle. I'm sad they don't offer flights.
Enjoyed our experience here at 1285 Winery! The shop inside is full of neat items including their coffee, wine and bakery. Situated on a blueberry farm, we very much enjoyed the blueberry fritter! The food, we ordered pretzels and the chicken bacon ranch pizza, definitely hit the spot. The wines were sweet and full of flavor, especially the mixed berry wine. The venue itself is beautiful and would be a great spot to host a special event. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing day at a out of the way winery!
